Nedbank Namibia Supports Dialogue on Strengthening MSME Development. Nedbank Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to small business growth by supporting a recent High-Level Information Session hosted by the NIFA Academy. The event brought together policymakers, financial experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss how Namibia can build a more supportive environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Dr. Michael Humavindu, Executive Director at the Ministry of Finance and Social Grants Management, delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the essential role of collaboration between government, financial institutions, and development partners in promoting inclusive economic growth. According to Dr. Humavindu, strong partnerships remain central to creating conditions where MSMEs can thrive, scale, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The session also included a panel discussion featuring Sam Ikela, Nedbank Namibia’s Head of SME. Ikela shared insights on improving financial inclusion and expanding access for entrepreneurs who operate in the informal market. He spoke on the importance of integrating informal businesses into the mainstream banking ecosystem, noting that doing so can unlock better financial tools, boost business resilience, and help entrepreneurs transition into formalised operations.

The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas on policy support, business development, financial literacy, and long-term sustainability. Attendees engaged in discussions on strengthening the national entrepreneurial ecosystem through skills development, improved market access, and accessible financing channels.
