Hipi Tjivikua Appointed as New Roads Authority CEO Following Distinguished Tenure at WBCG. The Roads Authority has confirmed the appointment of Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) Chief Executive Officer, Hipi Tjivikua, as its new CEO. He will officially assume the position in a month, succeeding Conrad Lutombi, who is retiring after years of service.

Tjivikua, a respected figure in Namibia’s transport and logistics sector, confirmed the news in a statement to Namibia Business Review, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.

With over two decades of leadership experience, Tjivikua has played a vital role in advancing Namibia’s logistics and infrastructure development. His strategic and operational expertise has made a lasting impact, particularly through his long-standing work with the Walvis Bay Corridor Group, where he first joined in 2008 as Project Manager for the Safe Trade and Transport Corridors initiative.

Over the years, he rose through the ranks, driving key projects that enhanced trade efficiency and strengthened regional integration through Namibia’s transport corridors. His leadership at WBCG since 2019 has been marked by a focus on collaboration between government, industry, and international partners.

Before joining WBCG, Tjivikua gained global exposure as a Marketing Researcher at Cubellis Associates Inc. and Business Development Consultant at Global Strategic Resources in the United States. He also held senior roles at TransNamib, including Executive for Strategy and Stakeholder Management, Executive for Commercial and Marketing, and Interim Acting CEO.

Beyond his executive roles, Tjivikua contributes to academia as a part-time lecturer in Business Management, Strategic Leadership, and Quality Management Systems, mentoring Namibia’s next generation of business leaders.

His move to the Roads Authority marks a significant transition in Namibia’s transport leadership landscape, promising continuity and experienced oversight in one of the country’s most crucial sectors.
