Swakop Uranium Reaffirms Commitment to Namibia’s Economic Growth in Courtesy Visit to President Nandi-Ndaitwah. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed the executive leadership of Swakop Uranium for a courtesy visit, underscoring the strategic partnership between the Namibian Government and the private sector in driving national development.
The delegation was led by Swakop Uranium Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lou Wei, who briefed the President on the company’s operational milestones and future outlook. Swakop Uranium, which operates one of the largest uranium mines in the world, remains a significant contributor to Namibia’s mining sector and overall GDP.
During the meeting, President Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed appreciation for the company’s continued investment and engagement in Namibia. She acknowledged Swakop Uranium’s role not only in boosting economic output, but also in supporting government efforts to reduce unemployment and empower the country’s youth through job creation.
Mr. Wei reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Namibia, emphasizing plans to expand production capacity and deepen cooperation with local institutions. He noted that Swakop Uranium remains focused on sustainable operations and intends to continue supporting government-led initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.
The engagement reflects Namibia’s broader ambition to strengthen ties with strategic investors while promoting inclusive economic transformation and industrialization.
