Swakop Uranium Marks 2025 Achievements and Workforce Excellence at 2026 Annual Gathering. Swakop Uranium brought employees and leadership together on 18 February 2026 for its Annual Event, recognising performance, workplace culture and operational progress achieved during 2025.

The gathering focused on acknowledging the organisation’s workforce and the role of shared values in driving results. According to the company, employees demonstrated strict compliance, prudent decision making, attention to detail and a fact based approach across operations during the year. These principles supported performance in safety, production, innovation and broader business outcomes.

A range of individual and team awards formed a central part of the event. Exceptional Individual honours were presented to Jeffrey Barth, Georgette Buckley, Konrad Goseb, Mario Pienaar, Qiu Xianglong, Josephat Simeon, Festus Nampweya, Ignatius Shaduka, Colleen Innes and Martha Hakaye. Team recognition saw the Overall Recovery Team receive first place, followed by the Husab Exploration Team and Plant Reliability Team, while several operational groups shared third place recognition.

Innovation and improvement initiatives were also recognised. Diamond Awards were presented to the Heap Leach Project and the Mine to Mill Optimisation Project. Additional platinum and gold level awards highlighted cost saving measures, engineering applications and equipment optimisation initiatives.

Safety, health and environmental representatives and teams were separately recognised for their contributions.

Performance results for 2025 were highlighted during the programme. The company reported maintaining a NOSA 5 Star safety rating with zero fatalities and zero lost time injuries. At Husab Mine, drummed production reached 5,429 tU₃O₈, described as the highest in the mine’s history. Overall recovery reached 89 percent, while more than 74,000 metres of exploration drilling added over 20 kt U₃O₈ to mineral resources.

The event also included the signing of DOAM performance contracts for 2026, reinforcing accountability across departments. Leadership outlined priorities for the year ahead, with continued emphasis on safety, execution and innovation.
