Courtesy Visit Reinforces Collaboration on Vocational Training and Skills Development in Namibia. Officials from the Namibia Training Authority welcomed a delegation from the Community Skills Development Foundation during a courtesy visit held today, underscoring continued cooperation in strengthening vocational education and skills development across Namibia.

Engagements between representatives and Namibia Training Authority Chief Executive Officer Erick Fundula Nenghwanya focused on updates to the 2026 trainee registration process and progress on construction of a new student accommodation facility in Lüderitz.

Discussions also addressed COSDEF’s mandate, operational priorities for the year, financial sustainability considerations and funding needs, alongside efforts to strengthen compliance and institutional cooperation between both organisations.

The visiting delegation included Executive Manager Paavo Kamutukwata, Training and Curriculum Development Manager Penehafo Pohamba and Finance Manager Petrus Kalukambe, who participated in the engagement with senior leadership.

Registered as a Trust, the Community Skills Development Foundation coordinates a national network of nine Community Skills Development Centres and an Arts and Crafts Centre serving communities across Namibia.

Approximately 2,000 trainees receive NQA accredited, competency based vocational training each year, with programmes designed to equip unemployed youth and marginalised groups with practical, income generating skills.

Officials highlighted COSDEF’s learning to earn philosophy, supported by governance structures and centre management focused on expanding participation in economic activity through skills development.

The Namibia Training Authority reaffirmed the value of partnerships that expand access to training, uphold quality standards and support sustainable economic participation across the country.

Both institutions expressed commitment to continued collaboration aimed at strengthening technical and vocational education and training systems and improving opportunities for skills based livelihoods.

The meeting forms part of ongoing engagement between stakeholders working to strengthen governance, maintain regulatory compliance, and align strategic priorities supporting Namibia’s technical and vocational education and training landscape, reinforcing coordinated efforts to enhance institutional effectiveness, expand programme delivery, and sustain long term development outcomes nationwide through structured cooperation.
