NamPower Pasop Roadshow Engages Kavango Communities on Infrastructure Protection. The NamPower Pasop Roadshow has officially arrived in the Kavango East and West regions, with the team hosting community engagements in Nkurenkuru to raise awareness about the importance of protecting electrical infrastructure.
Yesterday, NamPower representatives met with residents at Shoprite Nkurenkuru and Elcin Nkurenkuru High School, where they shared information on the dangers of vandalism and theft of electricity structures. The sessions highlighted how such acts disrupt power supply, compromise safety, and hinder development in local communities.
The Pasop campaign is designed to encourage communities to take an active role in safeguarding national assets. NamPower emphasized that vandalism and theft not only damage infrastructure but also increase costs for repairs and maintenance, ultimately affecting service delivery.
Residents were urged to report suspicious activity to help curb these challenges. NamPower provided a dedicated contact number, (061) 205 2345, for reporting incidents of vandalism or theft. The corporation stressed that community vigilance is essential in ensuring reliable electricity supply and protecting investments made to strengthen Namibia’s energy network.
The Nkurenkuru engagements form part of NamPower’s broader outreach efforts under the Pasop Roadshow, which travels across regions to educate and involve citizens in infrastructure protection. By working closely with schools, businesses, and local communities, the initiative aims to build awareness and foster a culture of responsibility around public utilities.
NamPower reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable electricity for all Namibians, while calling on residents to “Pasop and stay safe” by reporting any threats to infrastructure.
