Namibia Shines at International Jiu-Jitsu Competition with 19-Medal Triumph

Namibia Shines at International Jiu-Jitsu Competition with 19-Medal Triumph. Namibia’s young athletes delivered a stellar performance at the International AJP Jiu-Jitsu Competition held in South Africa last weekend, proudly earning a total of 19 medals — nine gold, nine silver, and one bronze.

Representing Z1 Academy Namibia under the expert mentorship of Professor Nilson Coelho, the 19-member team demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and teamwork against strong international opponents. Their remarkable showing secured Namibia second place overall among all participating nations — a milestone achievement for the country’s martial arts community.

The competition tested both physical strength and mental focus, but the Namibian athletes rose to the challenge with unwavering determination. Their performance reflected the growing talent and dedication within the local Jiu-Jitsu scene, which continues to gain traction across Namibia’s sporting landscape.

This success is also a tribute to the parents, coaches, and Jiu-Jitsu supporters who continue to nurture and invest in the sport’s development nationwide. Through consistent training and mentorship, young Namibians are not only excelling in competition but also building discipline, confidence, and resilience — qualities that extend beyond the mat.

As Z1 Academy celebrates this proud victory, the message is clear: Namibia’s martial arts future is bright, and the country is quickly emerging as a strong contender on the regional and international stage.
