Namibia’s High Commissioner Bids Farewell to Para Athletics Team in India. Namibia’s High Commissioner to India, H.E. Gabriel P. Sinimbo, officially bid farewell to Team Namibia on 5 October 2025 after the athletes successfully represented the country at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in India.

The farewell ceremony took place in the presence of members of the Indian Global Business Forum delegation, who joined the Namibian diplomats in acknowledging the athletes’ achievements and resilience throughout the global competition.

During the visit, Team Namibia’s athletes were presented with participation medals, a symbol of appreciation for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence in sport. The medals also served as a recognition of the team’s role in promoting inclusivity and national pride on the international stage.

Ambassador Sinimbo commended the athletes for their remarkable effort and unwavering spirit, emphasizing the importance of representation in fostering global awareness of Namibia’s sporting potential. He highlighted that their participation went beyond competition — it demonstrated the nation’s values of perseverance, teamwork, and equality.

He further noted that Namibia’s athletes continue to inspire both able-bodied and differently-abled youth to pursue their dreams through sport. “Your achievements remind us that determination and unity can break barriers,” he said.

The 2025 World Para Athletics Championships provided an important platform for Namibian athletes to compete among the world’s best while strengthening Namibia’s international sports diplomacy and fostering stronger cultural ties between Namibia and India.
