Former Bank Windhoek Employee Denied Bail in NAMCOR-Linked Case

Former Bank Windhoek Employee Denied Bail in NAMCOR-Linked Case. Heidi Boois, a former Bank Windhoek employee, was denied bail when she appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with an alleged corruption case linked to the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR).

She has been added to the list of suspects in the matter and is identified as suspect number 12 in the ongoing investigation.

Details of the allegations were not discussed in court during her brief appearance, which focused on bail proceedings. The court ruled that she would remain in custody at this stage.

Her legal representative, Kadhila Amoomo, told the court that the defence intends to submit a formal bail application. According to Amoomo, that application is scheduled to be filed on 6 February.

Boois’s arrest forms part of a broader investigation that has resulted in multiple individuals being listed as suspects. Authorities have not released further details regarding the scope of the case or the specific charges she may face.

The matter will return to court once the bail application is formally lodged. Proceedings are expected to continue as the investigation develops and additional information becomes available through the judicial process.

Law enforcement agencies have indicated that the investigation remains active. Court proceedings so far have centred on procedural steps, with further arguments likely to be presented when the bail application is heard later this week.

At this stage, no additional court dates beyond the planned bail application have been announced. The case continues to draw public attention due to its connection to NAMCOR, one of Namibia’s key state-owned energy entities.

The court did not make any findings on guilt or innocence during the appearance, as the session dealt solely with bail. Further developments are expected as legal proceedings continue. Updates will follow as the matter progresses through the court system in Namibia.
