Swakop Uranium Wins Top Honours at Namibia’s National Quality Awards. Swakop Uranium has been recognised among Namibia’s leading companies at the National Quality Awards 2025, hosted by the Namibia Standards Institution (NSI) in commemoration of World Standards Day on 14 October 2025. The event marked a significant milestone with the launch of Namibia’s first-ever National Standardisation Strategy and Implementation Plan, aimed at guiding the nation’s quality and standards development over the coming years.

Represented by Executive Vice President Mr. Irvinne Simataa, Swakop Uranium received two major distinctions — First Place for “Best Company of the Year” and Second Place for “Best Product of the Year.” The awards highlight the company’s continued dedication to operational excellence, sustainable development, and adherence to world-class quality and environmental standards.

The National Quality Awards celebrate Namibian organisations that demonstrate leadership in implementing quality management systems and advancing standards across sectors. Swakop Uranium’s recognition underscores its efforts to uphold global best practices in mining, production efficiency, and innovation.

The launch of the National Standardisation Strategy signals Namibia’s ambition to develop 300 new national standards annually, promoting competitiveness and alignment with international benchmarks. Swakop Uranium reaffirmed its support for this vision, noting that the company’s long-term goal remains to contribute to Namibia’s industrial growth while striving to become the world’s second-largest uranium producer under strict quality and safety principles.
