WBGC Dominates as Namibia Crowns New Rhythmic Gymnastics Champions. The Namibian Gymnastics Federation (NGF) crowned its national rhythmic gymnastics champions for novice Levels 1 to 3 during a vibrant two-day tournament hosted by the Walvis Bay Gymnastics Club (WBGC) last weekend.
More than 200 gymnasts from nine clubs across the country took part, including WBGC, Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics, Parkies Gymnastics, International School of Walvis Bay Gymnastics, Windhoek Rhythmic, Oceanview Rhythmic, Tsumeb Gymnastics, Atlantic Gymnastics and Infinity Rhythmic Gymnastics. Competitors performed in hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon routines, displaying growing technical skill and artistry across all age groups.
WBGC emerged as the top-performing club, leading the medals tally, followed closely by Windhoek Rhythmic and Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Event organiser and WBGC head coach Roumi Kostin commended the rapid growth of rhythmic gymnastics in Namibia, noting that dividing the national competition into separate novice and advanced events allows more gymnasts to participate competitively. She said this structure supports athlete development and helps strengthen the sport’s foundation nationwide.
Individual honours were awarded to standout performers, including Elinka Botes of Windhoek Rhythmic, who took the Level 3 (U11) trophy; Mieke Pinaar of WBGC, who won Level 2 (U9); and Gianna Itewa of Elite, who claimed the Level 1 (U9) title.
