The event highlighted a wide range of totems, including the Lions (Aakwananime), Zebras (Aakwaluvala), Elephants (Aakwamhalanga), Crocodiles (Aakwanaifeta), Dogs (Aakwanambwa), Sheep (Aakwanadi), Cattle (Aakwanangobe), Hyenas (Aakwanekamba), Locusts (Aakwahepo), Snakes (Aakwanyooka), Buffaloes (Aakwanyati), Claypots (Aakwanayuma), Grass (Aakwanaidi), Millet (Aakwaudimbe), as well as the Rabbit and the Monkey.
Each totem carries deep cultural meaning, reflecting ancestral roots, clan identity, values, and unity. Passed down through generations, these traditions continue to shape community bonds and affirm Namibia’s diverse cultural landscape.
