NamPower Unveils Five-Year Strategy Focused on Energy Transformation and Sustainable GGrowth. NamPower has launched its 2026 to 2030 Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP), setting out a five-year roadmap aimed at strengthening the utility’s role in Namibia’s evolving energy sector while aligning its objectives with the country’s national development plans.

The strategy was officially launched on Friday by NamPower Chairperson Laurence Kavendjii.

According to Kavendjii, the new strategic direction reflects a renewed commitment to transformation, sustainability and regional leadership in the energy sector. He said the plan was developed through a collaborative process and is anchored by a revised vision and mission that will guide the company’s priorities over the next five years.

Kavendjii said the strategy is designed to enhance value for both shareholders and stakeholders while outlining priorities across NamPower’s operational areas. He added that the plan aligns with Namibia’s economic transformation agenda and the evolving Modified Single Buyer (MSB) market structure.

The chairperson said NamPower will continue to focus on innovation, strategic partnerships and operational excellence as it works to provide sustainable, reliable and affordable electricity to Namibians.

He also pointed to anticipated industrial expansion, particularly in green hydrogen, as a factor that could increase the availability of surplus variable renewable energy. At the same time, developments in the oil and gas industry, as well as mineral beneficiation, are expected to increase electricity demand and place additional pressure on the country’s generation and transmission capacity.

According to NamPower, the strategy has been developed in response to changes in the electricity market, rapid technological advancement and growing demand for reliable, affordable and cleaner energy. The plan seeks to address operational challenges while supporting long-term growth, innovation and resilience, with a strong emphasis on service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
