Bank Windhoek Introduces Namibia’s First Wallet-to-Wallet Transfer Service

Bank Windhoek Introduces Namibia’s First Wallet-to-Wallet Transfer Service. Bank Windhoek has made history by becoming the first bank in Namibia to launch a wallet-to-wallet money transfer service, enabling transactions even for individuals without traditional bank accounts.

The bank officially announced the rollout of its new feature, EasyWallet On-Send, on Wednesday. The service allows users to send funds directly from their Bank Windhoek EasyWallet account to another EasyWallet user, providing a secure and convenient digital payment option for all Namibians.

According to Bank Windhoek managing director James Chapman, customers can transfer up to N$2 000 per day and make multiple transactions within that limit. “This new feature demonstrates our commitment to financial inclusion, innovation, and secure, instant payments,” Chapman said.

He added that the bank will continue monitoring customer feedback and transaction patterns, with the possibility of increasing the transfer limit in the future to accommodate growing usage and customer needs.

At present, the service is available exclusively to MTC mobile users, with plans underway to extend access to TN Mobile customers soon. This step aims to widen the reach of digital payments and support Namibia’s ongoing shift toward a cashless economy.

The EasyWallet On-Send service aligns with Bank Windhoek’s broader strategy to enhance digital accessibility and empower customers through innovative financial solutions. By offering non-bank account holders a simple way to send and receive money, the bank is advancing its goal of improving financial inclusion across the country.
