Young Professionals in Oshakati Engage in Powerful Dialogue on Financial Planning and Empowerment. More than 80 young professionals gathered in Oshakati for a high-impact evening of financial insight, networking, and empowerment, hosted by Old Mutual Namibia. The event brought together doctors, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and other ambitious individuals united by a shared goal: taking control of their financial future.

The session opened with a welcome from Timotheus Kanime, Ondangwa Personal Finance Sales Manager, who set the tone by emphasising the importance of financial literacy among emerging leaders. Closing remarks were delivered by Nikanor Ruben, Northern Regions Personal Finance Manager, who highlighted that financial planning is not a luxury, but a necessity at every stage of life.

A key highlight of the evening was the dynamic panel discussion moderated by Ndadhi Ndoroma, General Manager for Personal Finance. The panel featured three experts from Old Mutual:

• Jo-ann van Wyk (Old Mutual Investments), who broke down the difference between saving and investing, offering strategies for long-term growth.
• Kerthu Haimbodi (Old Mutual Short-Term Insurance), who spoke on the importance of protecting assets and managing risk.
• Jeffrey Isaacs (Old Mutual Life), who addressed income protection and planning for future security.

The event was designed to meet the real-world needs of Namibia’s young professionals, many of whom are navigating critical financial decisions early in their careers. Attendees left with practical knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose in managing their money wisely.
