Old Mutual Names Carmen Forster as Future Head of Corporate Segment

Old Mutual Names Carmen Forster as Future Head of Corporate Segment. Old Mutual has announced the appointment of Carmen Forster as Designate Managing Director for its Corporate Segment business, effective 1 January 2026. She will officially assume the role of Managing Director on 1 April 2026, succeeding Patricia Olivier, who is set to retire in May 2026 after a long career with the organisation.

Forster brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a background spanning actuarial science, investments and operational leadership. Her professional experience includes senior roles held across Namibia and South Africa, where she has been involved in building actuarial teams, leading business transformation initiatives and contributing to product development within the sector.

She holds an Honours degree in Economic Science, with majors in Actuarial Science and Economic Science, from the University of the Witwatersrand. Forster is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the United Kingdom and the Actuarial Society of South Africa, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.

Beyond her corporate leadership roles, Forster has contributed to the broader insurance and actuarial profession. She has served as President of the Society of Actuaries of Namibia and as Vice Chairperson of the Namibia Insurance Association, reflecting her involvement in industry leadership and governance.

Commenting on her appointment, Forster said she was honoured to be entrusted with the leadership role and expressed her intention to build on the foundation established by Patricia Olivier. She noted her focus on working with teams and clients to support innovation, growth and positive impact across the business.

Old Mutual acknowledged the contribution of Olivier, describing her leadership and commitment as instrumental in shaping the Corporate Segment’s performance and standing in the market.

Old Mutual Namibia Group Chief Executive Officer Tassius Chigariro said the company is confident that Forster’s experience, strategic perspective and leadership approach will support continued growth and innovation within the Corporate Segment.

The appointment forms part of Old Mutual’s ongoing leadership transition planning as the company positions itself for the next phase of its business development.
