Namibian Referees Earn CAF Recognition at 2026 WAFCON Qualifier. The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has announced the appointment of two of the country’s top match officials to officiate in a major continental fixture — a 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier taking place this afternoon in Accra, Ghana.
Reigning Namibian Referee of the Year, Twanyanyukwa Antsino, has been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to take charge of the crucial qualifier between Ghana’s Black Queens and Egypt. Her appointment reflects the growing confidence CAF has in Namibian officials and highlights the strides Namibia continues to make in women’s football at both national and continental levels.
Joining Antsino on this important assignment is fellow Namibian referee Vistorina Shangula, who will serve as the fourth official for the match. Shangula’s inclusion further cements Namibia’s reputation for producing capable and professional match officials trusted to handle high-stakes international fixtures.
The appointments mark another milestone for Namibian football, particularly in the development and recognition of women referees. Both officials have been consistent performers domestically and internationally, and their presence in such a prominent qualifier underscores the NFA’s ongoing efforts to promote excellence and gender representation within the sport.
For Namibia, these appointments serve as a reminder of the country’s growing footprint in African football beyond players and teams — extending to officiating and sports administration. The NFA continues to support its referees through training, mentorship, and exposure to international competitions, ensuring they remain competitive on the global stage.
