IUM Nkurenkuru Campus Launches Ninth Annual Cultural Festival

IUM Nkurenkuru Campus Launches Ninth Annual Cultural Festival. The International University of Management (IUM) Nkurenkuru Campus has officially opened its ninth annual cultural festival, a week-long event running under the theme “Our Roots, Our Future.” The festival, which began on Wednesday, will conclude on 31 August 2025.

Designed to celebrate Namibia’s diverse heritage, the cultural festival brings together students, staff, and the broader Nkurenkuru community. Through performances, exhibitions, and interactive sessions, participants are encouraged to embrace cultural pride while fostering unity and mutual understanding.

The annual event has become a staple in the Nkurenkuru social calendar, offering a platform for traditional music, dance, art, and cuisine to be showcased. Beyond the performances, the festival also provides space for dialogue on the importance of preserving cultural identity in a rapidly changing world.

Campus representatives highlighted that this year’s theme reflects the dual importance of honoring traditions while preparing students to play active roles in shaping the future. By engaging with cultural practices, the festival aims to strengthen values of inclusivity and respect among the student body and surrounding community.

Attendees have welcomed the initiative, describing it as both educational and entertaining. For many, the event offers an opportunity to reconnect with their heritage, while for others it provides exposure to traditions outside their own cultural backgrounds.

As the festival continues throughout the week, Nkurenkuru residents can expect a vibrant display of Namibia’s cultural richness, underscoring IUM’s role not only as an academic institution but also as a contributor to community cohesion and cultural preservation.
