Brave Warriors to Play Home Matches in Botswana Amid Stadium Upgrades

Brave Warriors to Play Home Matches in Botswana Amid Stadium Upgrades. Namibia’s senior national football team, the Brave Warriors, will host their international home matches in Botswana under a new strategic partnership between the Namibia Football Association (NFA) and the Botswana Football Association (BFA).

The arrangement, announced by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, is a temporary solution while Namibia continues with the development and upgrading of its national sports infrastructure. As part of the agreement, Francistown in Botswana will serve as the official venue for the Brave Warriors’ home fixtures, with immediate effect.

This partnership ensures that the Brave Warriors maintain their presence in international competitions without disruption, despite the ongoing construction and refurbishment of local stadiums.

The Ministry emphasized that the decision reflects a commitment to ensuring the national team continues to perform on the international stage while long-term efforts to build world-class sports facilities are underway. It also praised the spirit of regional cooperation and goodwill shown by the BFA in supporting Namibia during this transitional period.

The agreement also highlights growing ties between the two Southern African football associations, potentially paving the way for future collaborations in sports development and regional competition.
