AEDU Conference 2026 Opens in Swakopmund with Focus on AI and Investment. The Association of Electricity Distribution Utilities (AEDU) Conference 2026 officially opened today at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund, launched by Her Worship, Councillor Suama Kautondokwa, Mayor of Swakopmund.

The three-day conference, running from 11–13 March 2026, is being held under the theme: “Positioning the Electricity Distribution Industry (EDI) for Investment Opportunities by Leveraging Natural Resources and Artificial Intelligence (AI).” The gathering brings together electricity distribution utilities, policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to deliberate on key issues shaping the sector.

Discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including electricity regulatory matters, energy policy, challenges facing the industry, security of supply, and the national supply outlook. The conference aims to provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, with the goal of strengthening Namibia’s electricity distribution industry and positioning it for future investment opportunities.

One of the highlights of the program is a panel discussion titled “Effectively Integrating AI into Namibia’s Electricity Distribution Industry: Where Do We Start?” The session will explore opportunities for leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance innovation, efficiency, and service delivery in electricity distribution.

The 15th AEDU Namibia Technical Conference underscores the importance of regional cooperation and innovation in addressing the evolving energy landscape. By focusing on both natural resource management and emerging technologies, the conference seeks to align Namibia’s electricity distribution industry with global trends while ensuring sustainable growth and resilience.

As the sessions continue, stakeholders are expected to identify actionable strategies that will strengthen the sector’s ability to meet rising demand, attract investment, and deliver reliable electricity services to communities across the country.
