Empower to Earn Phase 2 Training Strengthens Youth Skills Across Namibia. In partnership with the FirstRand Namibia Foundation Trust, the One Economy Foundation, through its Youth Opportunity Pillar, successfully delivered the Empower to Earn Phase 2 training across Groot Aub, Rehoboth, and Okahandja from 26 February to 5 March 2026.
The programme provided intensive, hands-on workshops designed to equip young participants with practical technical skills, entrepreneurship training, and essential financial literacy. By combining these elements, the initiative lays a strong foundation for sustainable income generation and long-term business growth.
Organisers emphasized that the training was driven by insights gathered from over 450 youth, ensuring that the content was relevant, practical, and informed by the needs of the communities themselves. This approach reflects the importance of tailoring education to real-world challenges and opportunities, rather than relying solely on theoretical models.
The Empower to Earn initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen youth empowerment and economic participation in Namibia. By focusing on practical skills and entrepreneurial capacity, the programme aims to help young people build resilience, create employment opportunities, and contribute to community development.
The collaboration between the One Economy Foundation and the FirstRand Namibia Foundation Trust highlights the value of partnerships in advancing social impact. Together, the organisations are working to ensure that young Namibians are not only prepared for today’s job market but are also equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.
The completion of Phase 2 underscores the transformative potential of targeted youth programmes, reinforcing the message that education, when practical and community-informed, can change lives and drive sustainable growth.
