FNB Namibia and City of Windhoek Reaffirm Commitment to Development Partnership. First National Bank (FNB) Namibia has continued to strengthen its partnership with the City of Windhoek following a courtesy visit by senior bank officials to the city’s leadership.

On the day of the engagement, FNB’s Head of Business Banking and Public Sector, Veranus Shinyemba, accompanied by Senior Commercial Account Executive Leslie Puriza, met with the Mayor of Windhoek, His Worship Councillor Sakarias Uunona. The visit formed part of ongoing engagements between the bank and the municipality.

FNB has been a long-standing strategic partner in the City of Windhoek’s socio-economic development, supporting initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents. According to information shared during the visit, the bank has previously provided assistance to flood-affected communities and contributed to the Windhoek Residents Mayoral Trust Fund, which supports poor and vulnerable residents.

Mayor Uunona welcomed the engagement and expressed the City’s willingness to further strengthen collaboration with FNB. He noted the importance of partnerships that support sustainable development and deliver tangible benefits to residents of the capital.

City of Windhoek Chief Executive Officer Moses Matyayi also welcomed the continued engagement with the bank. He highlighted the City’s need for a committed financial partner to support infrastructure development and long-term growth initiatives. Matyayi noted that the City of Windhoek is one of FNB’s significant investors and expressed hope that the bank will continue to play a key role in financing projects that contribute to the City’s development and long-term legacy.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared interest between FNB Namibia and the City of Windhoek in advancing development-focused initiatives through collaboration. Both parties indicated a willingness to maintain open engagement in pursuit of projects that support socio-economic progress.

FNB Namibia said it remains committed to working with public sector partners to support development priorities, while the City of Windhoek reiterated its focus on partnerships that contribute to sustainable urban growth.
