Two Killed, 17 Injured in Minibus Crash Near Mururani Checkpoint. Two people lost their lives and 17 others were injured after a Quantum minibus overturned near the Mururani checkpoint in the Kavango West Region on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 11h00 at Mahahe village, about eight kilometres from the Mururani checkpoint. The vehicle was travelling from Rundu to Windhoek at the time of the crash.
According to available information, the driver of the Quantum lost control of the vehicle, resulting in it overturning. An adult and a minor died as a result of the accident. Emergency services responded to the scene, and the injured passengers were transported to Rundu State Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
The crash caused distress among community members in the area, with residents and passers-by assisting before emergency personnel arrived. Authorities have not released further details regarding the condition of the injured passengers or the circumstances that led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
