MTC Partners with Savanna Sound of Summer Festival to Promote Road Safety. MTC has joined forces with the Savanna Sound of Summer Festival as the event’s official transport partner, providing a dedicated bus service aimed at ensuring safe travel for attendees. The initiative forms part of MTC’s commitment to road safety and community well-being.
A fleet of branded buses will operate across the festival period, covering both day and night schedules. Day shifts will run from 10h00 to 16h00, while night shifts will operate between 22h00 and 02h00. The buses will transport festival-goers from key locations including Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Longbeach. Organisers estimate that approximately 3,000 attendees will benefit from the service.
Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, highlighted that the partnership goes beyond providing transport. He stated that the initiative reinforces MTC’s commitment to community safety and encourages festival-goers to adopt responsible behaviour on the roads. Ekandjo expressed hope that attendees would carry the principles of safe travel beyond the festival, becoming “Road Safety Advocates” throughout the festive season.
The dedicated transport service aims to reduce traffic congestion and limit the risk of road accidents during the festival, providing a safe and convenient alternative for attendees who might otherwise drive. The move aligns with broader efforts to promote responsible travel and community engagement during high-traffic events.
By offering a reliable shuttle service, MTC seeks to demonstrate how corporate partnerships can enhance public safety while supporting major cultural events. Festival organisers and transport partners emphasise that the initiative prioritises attendee safety and accessibility, allowing more people to enjoy the event responsibly.
The collaboration between MTC and the Savanna Sound of Summer Festival reflects an integrated approach to community engagement, combining entertainment with practical road safety measures to create a positive impact during the busy festive period.
