Team Namibia Officially Sent Off to AUSC Region 5 Youth Games. Team Namibia received a spirited and ceremonial send-off today as they prepare to participate in the AUSC Region 5 Youth Games. The occasion, organized by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC), brought together government officials and national figures to bid farewell to the young athletes.
In a show of high-level support, His Excellency, the First Gentleman of the Republic of Namibia, Lt. General (Ret.) Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah, delivered a motivational address to the team. He encouraged the athletes to compete with discipline, unity, and national pride, emphasizing the importance of representing Namibia with integrity on the regional stage.
Also in attendance was Deputy Minister of MEIYSAC, Hon. Dino Balloti, who highlighted the role of sports in national identity and youth development. He reminded the athletes that their performance reflects the resilience and unity of the Namibian people. “Carry the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship wherever you go,” he said.
The send-off event marks a significant moment for Namibia’s youth sporting calendar. The AUSC Region 5 Youth Games serve as a platform for young athletes from across Southern Africa to compete in various disciplines, build international experience, and foster regional cooperation through sport.
