Old Mutual Foundation Backs Inclusive Learning at Side by Side Centre in Windhoek

Old Mutual Foundation Backs Inclusive Learning at Side by Side Centre in Windhoek. The Old Mutual Foundation has extended critical support to the Side by Side Early Intervention Centre in Goreangab, Windhoek, through a contribution of sanitary and food essentials aimed at improving the quality of life for children with disabilities.

Funded via Old Mutual’s Executive Discretionary Fund, the donation supports the Centre’s daily operations as it welcomes 47 learners each day and over 120 children weekly for early development sessions. These sessions are facilitated by dedicated volunteer educators and bolstered by a key collaboration with the University of Namibia’s School of Medicine.

The support reflects Old Mutual Foundation’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive communities and ensuring that children living with disabilities are not left behind.

Speaking at the handover, Logan Fransman, Group Chief Operating Officer at Old Mutual Namibia, emphasized the importance of equal opportunity. “It is important for every child in the Namibian community to get an equal opportunity for learning and development,” he said.

The donation is expected to alleviate some of the operational pressures faced by the Centre, which has been instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing environment for children with various developmental needs.

Side by Side Early Intervention Centre serves as a vital hub for inclusive education and developmental support in the community, offering services that range from therapy sessions to caregiver guidance.

This gesture by the Old Mutual Foundation highlights the role of corporate social responsibility in addressing pressing community needs and supporting vulnerable groups.
