Young African FC Denies Club Sale Talks with NCS. Maleagi Ngarizemo, the founder of Young African FC, has dismissed rumors claiming the club intends to sell its spot in the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) to Namibia Correctional Services FC (NCS).
Ngarizemo addressed the speculation, stating that while NCS had initiated discussions about purchasing the club’s NPFL status, no agreement has been made.“There’s no deal in place. We were approached, and there were talks, but nothing came of it,” Ngarizemo clarified.
Young African FC will continue to operate under Ngarizemo’s ownership, with him remaining the club’s primary financial supporter.“The club will remain as Young African, and I am still the one leading and supporting it,” he affirmed.
The club, temporarily based in Mariental while its home stadium, Legare Stadium in Gobabis, is under renovation, has been the subject of rumors throughout the current league season regarding potential talks with NCS.
According to regulations from the Namibia Football Association (NFA), two clubs with the same owner cannot compete in the same league. To return to the top division, NCS would need to have independent management outside of the ministry, but their attempts to challenge their disqualification have so far been unsuccessful.
