TVET Directorate Launches Career Outreach in Khomas Region. The Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) under the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture will conduct school outreach sessions in the Khomas Region from 31 March to 01 April 2026.

The initiative is designed to provide learners with career guidance and share valuable information on vocational education opportunities available through TVET. By engaging directly with schools, the Directorate aims to raise awareness of the diverse training pathways that equip young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

The outreach programme is supported by the Windhoek Vocational Training Centre and the African Hospitality and Tourism, ensuring that learners receive accurate information and practical insights into skills development. Their participation highlights the importance of collaboration between institutions in strengthening vocational education and aligning training with industry needs.

Officials noted that the sessions will focus on helping learners understand the role of TVET in national development, particularly in addressing skills shortages and promoting inclusive economic growth. Learners will be introduced to opportunities in technical fields, hospitality, tourism, and other vocational disciplines that contribute to Namibia’s socio-economic resilience.

The outreach reflects the Ministry’s broader commitment to empowering youth through education and innovation. By equipping learners with knowledge about vocational pathways, the Directorate seeks to ensure that students make informed decisions about their future careers and contribute meaningfully to the country’s workforce.
