Omaheke Farmer Supports Rural Early Childhood Centre with N$36 000 Contribution

Omaheke Farmer Supports Rural Early Childhood Centre with N$36 000 Contribution. A prominent farmer from Namibia’s Omaheke Region, Leonard Vehonga Kandjiriomuini, has donated goods and financial support to Morukutu Early Childhood Development Centre in Otjirua village, Epukiro.

The total contribution amounts to N$36 000 and includes both material goods and direct educational support. Items donated to the centre are valued at N$25 000 and consist of school uniforms, stationery, and fencing materials. In addition to these goods, Kandjiriomuini contributed a further N$11 000 to support the further studies of the centre’s head teacher.

Morukutu ECD centre serves young children in the Otjirua village area, where access to early learning resources can be limited. The donation of uniforms and stationery is expected to support the daily needs of learners attending the centre, while the fencing materials are intended to assist with infrastructure at the facility.

The additional financial support directed toward the head teacher’s studies highlights an investment not only in physical resources, but also in education and professional development. By contributing toward further training, the donation extends beyond immediate classroom needs and into staff development.

Early Childhood Development centres play a key role in preparing children for formal schooling by providing foundational learning and care. Support from individuals and community members often helps such centres maintain and improve their services.

Kandjiriomuini’s contribution reflects a direct partnership between a member of the local farming community and an educational institution serving rural families. The donation was recently handed over to the Morukutu ECD centre in Otjirua village.

Community based support continues to play an important role in strengthening early childhood education efforts in rural parts of the Omaheke Region, where centres rely on a mix of public, private, and individual contributions to meet their needs.
