Namibia Participates in Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Zimbabwe

Namibia Participates in Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Zimbabwe. Namibia is taking part in the 22nd Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, currently underway in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, from 2 to 3 October 2025. The Namibian delegation is led by Hon. Jenelly Matundu, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Trade.

The annual high-level gathering brings together Foreign Ministers from African and Nordic countries to deliberate on ways to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development. This year’s meeting focuses on enhancing strategic partnerships and promoting multilateralism in addressing pressing global issues, including peace, security, and climate change.

Hon. Matundu is expected to contribute to the Round Table discussions centered on the reform of the United Nations Security Council. The dialogue aims to ensure that the Council better reflects current global realities and upholds the principles of fairness, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in maintaining international peace and security.

The Africa-Nordic partnership continues to serve as a key platform for dialogue between the two regions, promoting shared values such as democracy, good governance, and sustainable economic growth. Over the years, this collaboration has evolved to include cooperation in education, renewable energy, and digital innovation — areas that are crucial to Africa’s long-term development goals.

Namibia’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to constructive diplomacy and regional collaboration. Through engagements like these, Namibia continues to strengthen its voice on global governance reforms while deepening ties with both African and Nordic partners.
