Namibia Launches Regional Diplomatic Outreach Program to Strengthen International Partnerships

Namibia Launches Regional Diplomatic Outreach Program to Strengthen International Partnerships. Honourable Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade, addressed members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Namibia during a briefing at the Old Cabinet Chambers on 29 August 2025, highlighting new initiatives to deepen the country’s international engagement.

The Minister expressed appreciation for the consistent support and collaboration from Namibia’s diplomatic partners and underscored the importance of fostering mutual understanding through proactive engagement at both national and regional levels.

In a landmark announcement, Ashipala-Musavyi unveiled a pioneering regional outreach program set to begin in November 2025. The initiative will see the Minister personally visiting different regions of Namibia alongside members of the Diplomatic Corps every six months. These visits aim to showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity while assessing local economic opportunities and promoting development.

The Minister also reaffirmed Namibia’s commitment to international solidarity, reiterating support for the people of Palestine and Western Sahara and calling for the lifting of unilateral measures against Cuba, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe to advance the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Looking ahead, Ashipala-Musavyi announced plans to host the inaugural Namibia Diplomatic Fair in Windhoek. This event is designed to strengthen diplomatic ties, facilitate cultural exchange, and enhance public engagement with the international community, providing a platform for both local stakeholders and foreign representatives to explore collaboration opportunities.

For Namibia’s business community, these initiatives signal increased opportunities for investment, trade, and partnerships at regional levels. By connecting diplomats with local communities, the outreach program and Diplomatic Fair are expected to create avenues for enterprises to showcase products, access new markets, and align with national development priorities.
