Namdeb Strengthens Mining Future with Caterpillar D11 Dozers

Namdeb Strengthens Mining Future with Caterpillar D11 DDozers. Namdeb has taken a significant step in advancing its mining operations with the procurement of four Caterpillar D11 Dozers from Barloworld Namibia under a rent-to-buy agreement. The machines will support the company’s Dry Mining Unit (DMU) plant, a key innovation aimed at transforming overburden sand mining.

The Caterpillar D11s, classified as Ultra-Class mining dozers, are among the largest and most powerful in their category. Each is fitted with semi-universal blades capable of moving approximately 27.2 cubic metres of material in a single push, making them critical assets for improving efficiency and productivity in Namdeb’s operations.

During the official handover, Barloworld Country Manager Nick Kyriacos expressed pride in delivering the machines. “From Caterpillar and Barloworld’s perspective, being able to deliver four D11s to an operation like Namdeb and have them all in production is very exciting for all of us. We are proud to support Namdeb with equipment that will contribute to a more efficient and cost-effective way of mining and help drive the business forward,” he said.

Namdeb Chief Operating Officer Jurgen Jacob commended the Barloworld and Caterpillar teams for their continued support and service excellence. “These D11 Caterpillar machines are a massive step forward for our operation, and we are very pleased with both the performance and quality of service provided by the Barloworld team in general. We are looking forward to making good use of these machines,” he noted.

The procurement underscores Namdeb’s commitment to Mining for Good, reinforcing its focus on efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. By integrating advanced equipment into its operations, Namdeb aims to unlock the next phase of its mining future while strengthening its partnership with Barloworld and Caterpillar.
