NAMDEB and NAMITVEST Sign Landmark Payroll Deduction Agreement. In a significant move towards worker empowerment and economic inclusion, NAMDEB and NAMITVEST Investment Group (Pty) Ltd today signed a Payroll Deduction Agreement at NAMDEB’s Head Office in Windhoek. The agreement establishes a structured mechanism that allows NAMDEB employees to directly invest in NAMITVEST products through payroll deductions, fostering a culture of savings, ownership, and long-term financial security.

The partnership illustrates a shared commitment to bringing investment opportunities closer to mineworkers across Namibia, ensuring accessibility and comfort in participation. It also reflects a deliberate effort to embed equality in financial platforms, particularly for underserved members of the workforce.

The Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) has pledged its support for the initiative, reinforcing its dedication to expanding investment access and empowering its members. By enabling direct payroll deductions, the agreement is expected to enhance financial inclusion and encourage workers to actively participate in investment opportunities that contribute to their economic well-being

The signing ceremony was officiated by key representatives from all three partner organizations, including Mr. Riaan Burger, Chief Executive Officer of NAMDEB; Poco-Key Mberiuana, Acting President of the Mineworkers Union of Namibia; and Mayemelo Kalumbu, Chairperson of NAMITVEST.

Speaking at the event, officials emphasized that the agreement represents more than just a financial arrangement — it is a step towards building a stronger, more inclusive economy where workers are empowered to secure their futures.

The Payroll Deduction Agreement is expected to serve as a model for similar initiatives across Namibia’s mining sector, demonstrating how collaboration between industry, unions, and investment groups can drive meaningful change in communities and contribute to national economic growth.
