Namdeb Launches Commemorative Book Celebrating 30 Years. Namdeb Diamond Corporation (Namdeb) has launched a commemorative publication titled “Mining for Good: The Namdeb Story 1994–2024”, marking over three decades since the company’s establishment in 1994.

The book documents Namdeb’s journey, partnerships, and impact across 30 years, positioning itself as a strategic storytelling asset that reinforces the value of natural diamonds. It highlights how diamonds are responsibly mined, how they benefit communities and environments, and why their origin matters in the global natural diamond narrative.

The launch event featured remarks by Namdeb CEO Riaan Burger, alongside reflections from Hon. Inge Zaamwani-Kamwi, Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform and Namdeb’s first Managing Director. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Erasmus Shivolo, Deputy Executive Director at the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, on behalf of Hon. Modestus Amutse, Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy.

The publication, authored by Robin Sherbourne, celebrates Namdeb’s enduring story and contributions to Namibia’s economy and society. It underscores the company’s commitment to technological innovation, responsible resource management, inclusion, empowerment, and decarbonization.

Namdeb emphasized that the book is not only a record of its past but also a vision for the future, reflecting its role in building sustainable partnerships and contributing to Namibia’s long-term development. The commemorative launch was described as a milestone in reinforcing the importance of natural diamonds within both local and global contexts.

The event concluded with congratulations to all contributors and a reaffirmation of Namdeb’s commitment to continue mining responsibly, supporting communities, and advancing innovation for decades to come.
