MEIYSAC Launches Regional Education Outreach in Kavango West

MEIYSAC Launches Regional Education Outreach in Kavango West. The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC) officially kicked off its regional education outreach programme on 09 March 2026, beginning with visits to Himarwa Ithete Secondary School and Simanya Combined School.

The initiative is designed to engage directly with learners, parents, teachers, and community members, offering information and guidance on subsidized tertiary education, admission requirements, career pathways, and government support available to students.

According to the Ministry, the outreach programme will continue until 19 March 2026, with upcoming sessions scheduled in the Kavango East and Zambezi regions. The effort forms part of MEIYSAC’s broader commitment to ensuring that no learner is left behind when it comes to accessing education opportunities.

The Ministry is accompanied by key institutions including the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA), the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), the University of Namibia (UNAM), the Namibia Training Authority (NTA), the International University of Management (IUM), and Welwitschia University. Their participation ensures that learners receive comprehensive guidance on academic and vocational pathways available across Namibia.

Officials emphasized that the outreach programme is not only about providing information but also about building stronger connections between schools, communities, and higher education institutions. By engaging directly with learners and parents, the Ministry aims to demystify the processes of tertiary education access and highlight the opportunities available through government support.

The launch in Kavango West marks the beginning of a nationwide effort to expand awareness and empower learners to make informed decisions about their futures. As the programme moves into other regions, MEIYSAC hopes to inspire confidence among students and strengthen the country’s education system through inclusivity and accessibility.
