Helena Mboti Takes on Key Role as Standard Bank Namibia’s Group Economist. Standard Bank Namibia has appointed Helena Mboti as its new Group Economist, strengthening the bank’s capacity to navigate economic trends and financial markets.

Mboti brings ten years of experience spanning central and commercial banking, equipping her with a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic policy and financial sector dynamics. Her expertise covers balance-sheet risk management, financial stability monitoring, and macroprudential analysis.

Before joining Standard Bank, Mboti held several key positions at the Bank of Namibia. She began in the Research Department as an economist, where she focused on monetary and financial statistics. Later, she advanced to the Financial Stability Department as an analyst, contributing to systemic risk assessments and monitoring the resilience of Namibia’s financial system.

In her new role, Mboti will provide strategic economic analysis to support Standard Bank’s decision-making across its operations, helping to guide investment strategies and risk management initiatives.
