Standard Bank Namibia Rolls Out Free Card Swipes and ATM Withdrawals. Standard Bank Namibia has announced a revised pricing structure that came into effect on 1 January 2026, introducing free card swipes and free ATM withdrawals as part of a broader effort to make banking more affordable and accessible.
The bank said the new pricing model is aimed at simplifying everyday banking while reducing costs for customers. It also seeks to encourage the use of card-based and digital banking services, which the bank describes as secure and convenient alternatives to cash transactions.
Under the updated structure, customers are now able to swipe for free at all point-of-sale terminals. In addition, account holders are entitled to three free ATM withdrawals per month. Standard Bank said the changes are intended to help customers retain more of their money while reducing dependence on cash.
Nolan Angermund, Personal and Private Banking Product Head at Standard Bank Namibia, said the revised pricing reflects the bank’s focus on value and convenience. He noted that free swipes and free withdrawals form part of a wider commitment to improving the customer banking experience.
The pricing update also includes reduced fees across several digital banking services. Charges linked to MyUpdate, electronic funds transfers and inter-account transfers have been lowered, with the bank indicating that this will make digital banking more cost-effective for a wider range of customers.
Basic Bank Account holders will also benefit from the changes. According to the bank, these customers will now enjoy free point-of-sale transactions, free debit orders and three free ATM withdrawals each month at Standard Bank ATMs.
In addition to transactional changes, Standard Bank has introduced new value bundles designed to meet different customer needs. These include Titanium, Platinum, Young Professionals and Private Banking options.
The bank has further reduced fees on Blue Vouchers across all account tiers. Standard Bank said this move supports its broader objective of expanding access to affordable banking services. The revised pricing structure forms part of the bank’s wider approach to financial inclusion and customer-focused service delivery in Namibia.
