FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s Namibia Visit Postponed Amid Schedule Changes. The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has confirmed the postponement of FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s scheduled visit to the country, which was initially planned for Sunday as part of his ongoing six-nation tour of Southern Africa.
According to the NFA, the delay was due to unexpected adjustments in Infantino’s itinerary, affecting the planned stop in Namibia. The visit was expected to include engagements with football stakeholders and discussions on the continued development of the sport within the country.
In a brief statement, the NFA noted that it is working closely with the FIFA regional office in South Africa to finalise a new date for the visit. The association assured the public and football community that updates would be provided once new arrangements are confirmed.
“The Namibia Football Association, in collaboration with FIFA’s regional office, is actively coordinating to ensure the visit takes place at a later date,” the statement read.
Infantino’s Southern Africa tour has included engagements aimed at strengthening ties with national football associations, reviewing development programmes, and assessing infrastructure projects supported by FIFA. His visit to Namibia was anticipated to highlight ongoing collaboration between FIFA and the NFA, particularly in youth and grassroots football development.
While the postponement has caused a temporary delay, the NFA reaffirmed its commitment to advancing local football and maintaining strong partnerships with the global football body.
