City of Windhoek Strengthens Regional Ties at FACIM 2025 in Mozambique

City of Windhoek Strengthens Regional Ties at FACIM 2025 in Mozambique. The City of Windhoek is participating in the 60th edition of the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM), taking place from 25 to 31 August 2025 in Marracuene, Mozambique. The invitation to take part came through Windhoek’s long-standing partner, the Municipality of Marracuene.

FACIM, Mozambique’s largest trade and investment platform, has attracted over 3,000 exhibitors under the theme “Promoting Economic Diversification Towards Sustainable and Competitive Development of Mozambique.” The fair provides a space for regional integration, investment promotion, and innovation, making it a key event for businesses, governments, and municipalities across Southern Africa.

For Windhoek, participation in FACIM highlights the city’s commitment to building stronger inter-municipal partnerships while positioning itself as a hub for investment and sustainable urban development in Namibia. By showcasing Windhoek’s growth journey and sharing best practices, the city is working to attract new opportunities and strengthen cooperation with regional and international counterparts.

Visitors to the Windhoek stand have shown significant interest in Namibia’s investment climate, particularly noting the country’s political stability as a key factor in creating a favorable business environment. The city’s efforts to position itself as an attractive destination for both investors and innovators have been well received, reinforcing its role as a gateway for economic activity in Namibia.

Beyond the exhibition, the municipalities of Windhoek and Marracuene are also exploring potential areas of collaboration. These discussions are aimed at fostering economic ties, deepening cooperation, and unlocking new opportunities that will benefit residents in both cities.

Windhoek’s presence at FACIM 2025 underscores the importance of regional collaboration in driving shared growth and sustainable development.
