Bank of Namibia Launches Nationwide Financial Inclusion Awareness Campaign. The Bank of Namibia has officially launched a national Financial Inclusion Awareness Campaign, a strategic initiative aimed at broadening access to financial services and enhancing their effective use across the country.
The campaign reflects the Bank’s ongoing efforts to ensure that all Namibians—irrespective of location, income, or education—are empowered to actively participate in the formal financial system. By addressing barriers to access and strengthening public understanding, the initiative is expected to build a more inclusive and resilient economy.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Mr. Ebson Uanguta, highlighted the urgent need for deeper economic participation. “True monetary stability cannot exist without meaningful economic participation by all citizens,” he stated.
Mr. Uanguta acknowledged that while Namibia has made strides in improving financial access, the current challenge lies in turning that access into tangible opportunities. “Financial inclusion is not just about opening bank accounts—it must rest on three strong pillars: access, financial literacy, and consumer protection,” he said.
The awareness campaign will focus on community-level engagement, education drives, and partnerships with local institutions to promote a stronger understanding of how financial services can be used to build wealth, protect assets, and improve livelihoods.
This launch marks a pivotal step in the Bank’s broader efforts to close the financial inclusion gap and contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development.
