Namibia and China Deepen Cultural Ties Through Windhoek Culture FFair. Namibia and China have continued to strengthen cultural cooperation through a China-Namibia Culture Fair held in Windhoek, bringing people and organisations from both countries together for cultural exchange and engagement.

The fair was hosted by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

The event provided a platform to showcase shared cultural heritage, arts, creativity, diversity and the longstanding friendship between Namibia and China.

The Executive Director of Education, Innovation, Arts and Culture, Mr Haitengela, representing Minister Dr Sanet L. Steenkamp, commended the Chinese Embassy, led by Ambassador Zhao Weiping, for creating the platform.

The fair brought together individuals, companies, institutions and organisations from Namibia and China. Participants showcased a range of products, services and creative works spanning the arts, cultural and creative industries, business, education and other sectors

.The gathering highlighted cultural exchange and people-to-people engagement as areas of cooperation between the two countries.

During the event, Haitengela emphasised the importance of cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges in strengthening relations between nations.

He also highlighted the role of arts and culture beyond cultural expression, pointing to their potential to create opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment and economic growth.

The Culture Fair therefore provided an opportunity for participants from Namibia and China to engage through a range of cultural, creative, educational and business-related activities.

The collaboration between the ministry and the Chinese Embassy also demonstrated the role of cultural platforms in bringing stakeholders from both countries together.

The event forms part of continued cultural exchange and cooperation between Namibia and China, with the fair providing a space for showcasing creative work, products and services while promoting engagement between people from the two countries.
