Deputy Minister Calls for Discipline and Purpose at Triumphant College’s 2026 Academic Opening

Deputy Minister Calls for Discipline and Purpose at Triumphant College’s 2026 Academic Opening. Students, faculty and leadership gathered in Windhoek on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, as Triumphant College hosted its Orientation and Commencement Ceremony, marking the start of the academic year.

The keynote address was delivered by Deputy Minister Dino Ballotti, representing Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture. His remarks focused on student responsibility, institutional progress and national priorities for education.

Addressing both first-year and returning students, Ballotti congratulated the college on enrolling more than 10,000 students. He acknowledged the institution’s continued expansion in academic programmes, infrastructure development and its pursuit of academic excellence.

He also highlighted the announcement of highly subsidised tertiary education made on 24 March 2025, noting that the policy reflects government commitment to investing in young people and the country’s long-term development. The Deputy Minister described education as a key national priority aimed at strengthening opportunity and participation in economic and social life.

Speaking directly to students, Ballotti urged them not to allow academic symbols to define their personal value. He encouraged discipline, resilience and consistent effort as essential qualities for navigating higher education and life beyond the classroom.

He also addressed faculty members, emphasising the importance of professionalism and integrity in delivering education and supporting student development. His remarks expressed confidence in the institution’s continued growth and its contribution to national progress.

The ceremony reflected broader efforts across Namibia to expand access to quality tertiary education. Government leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting institutions that equip young people with knowledge and skills needed for leadership, innovation and nation building in the years ahead.
