Women Entrepreneurs Strengthen Record-Keeping Skills in Ongoing Business Training. Day 3 of the Improve Your Business Namibia training programme saw a focused session on Record Keeping, aimed at equipping women entrepreneurs with practical skills to manage their business documentation more effectively.
The training, held under the banner of economic empowerment, is part of a wider initiative to support women-led businesses in Namibia. Participants engaged in interactive exercises and discussions that highlighted the importance of accurate record keeping for financial management, decision-making, and long-term business sustainability.
The programme is a joint effort led by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, in partnership with UN Women and the De Beers Group. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools necessary to strengthen their enterprises.
Effective record keeping was presented not only as a regulatory requirement but as a foundational business practice that can improve access to finance, assist in performance tracking, and enable better planning. Participants were guided on how to create and maintain basic records, including income and expense logs, stock registers, and cash flow statements.
The training continues to build momentum as it progresses, with each day designed to cover critical aspects of running and growing a small business. Feedback from participants has been positive, with many noting increased confidence in managing their business operations.
Further sessions are expected to address areas such as marketing, customer care, and business planning. The programme is part of broader efforts to support inclusive economic development by investing in women’s entrepreneurship across Namibia.
