Windhoek Fire Brigade Showcases Youth Innovation at Fire Safety Art Competition

Windhoek Fire Brigade Showcases Youth Innovation at Fire Safety Art CCompetition. The Windhoek Fire Brigade recently placed young creatives at the forefront of public safety education through the International Fire Safety Art Competition, an event that encouraged learners from Pre Primary to High School to express fire safety themes through visual art. The competition brought together schools across the city, highlighting how creativity can play a meaningful role in strengthening community awareness.

Participants were grouped into different age categories, allowing learners to compete among their peers and present artwork inspired by key fire safety messages. The event created an opportunity for young people to translate essential safety principles into drawings and paintings that reflect their understanding of risk, preparedness, and responsible behaviour.

Outstanding entries were recognised with cash prizes, rewarding both artistic talent and the ability to communicate safety messages effectively. The competition aimed not only to celebrate creativity but also to reinforce practical fire safety knowledge among the youth.

The Windhoek Fire Brigade expressed appreciation to FNB Insurance, whose sponsorship made the competition possible. Their support helped create a platform where safety education could meet artistic expression, expanding the reach of awareness efforts across schools.

By engaging learners in this interactive approach, the Fire Brigade continues to promote a culture of safety through early education, ensuring that children understand how to prevent fire hazards and respond responsibly in emergencies. This initiative also strengthens collaboration between local institutions, the education sector, and the broader community.
