University of Namibia Champions CSR in Global Higher Education Forum. The University of Namibia (UNAM) recently took its commitment to social responsibility beyond national borders by participating in the 13th International Partnership Week hosted by DHBW Ravensburg in Germany. The event, which brought together institutions from across the globe, focused on the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the higher education landscape.
As one of the invited participants, UNAM joined partner universities in exploring how academic institutions can integrate CSR into their core functions — from research and teaching to community engagement. The forum served as a platform to exchange best practices and foster global collaboration on sustainability, ethics, and responsible institutional leadership.
The International Partnership Week featured panel discussions, workshops, and presentations covering topics such as ethical governance, student empowerment, and sustainable campus operations. UNAM’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to social development and environmental stewardship through education.
The University’s participation highlights Namibia’s academic engagement on the global stage and reinforces the relevance of African perspectives in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future. By contributing to dialogues on responsible university governance, UNAM demonstrated how African institutions are actively shaping the values of tomorrow’s global leaders.
While the event facilitated institutional networking, it also emphasized the shared responsibility universities have in addressing global challenges — from climate change to social inequality. UNAM’s role in the forum aligns with its broader mission to foster knowledge that serves both local and international communities.
This engagement adds to UNAM’s growing portfolio of international collaborations and showcases the university’s proactive stance in embedding CSR principles into its long-term strategy.
