Capricorn Foundation Commits N$1.8 Million to Strengthen Education in Namibia. The Capricorn Foundation has announced a N$1.8 million investment into Namibia’s education sector, reinforcing its commitment to long-term educational development across the country. The funding will support a range of initiatives aimed at improving access, infrastructure, and leadership within the education system.
This contribution is being channeled through strategic partnerships with several educational organisations, including Development Workshop Namibia, the African Leadership Institute, SPES Charity, Learn on One, and the EduLight Project.
Among the key areas supported by the Foundation are leadership training for school principals, aimed at enhancing school management and educational outcomes; infrastructure improvements for early childhood development centres; and the provision of learning content through broadcast television. In addition, the Foundation is backing efforts to supply learning materials and distribute solar lights to vulnerable learners, helping them study at home in off-grid areas.
According to the Foundation, these partnerships reflect a broader vision of building capacity and resilience within Namibia’s education ecosystem, especially in underserved communities. By combining resources with experienced local organisations, the Foundation hopes to deliver targeted support that reaches learners, educators, and community stakeholders alike.
