Namibia’s Desert Jewels Set to Compete at First-Ever UAE Netball Tournament. Namibia’s national women’s netball team, known as the Debmarine Desert Jewels, is gearing up to compete in the inaugural United Arab Emirates Netball Tournament from 15 to 21 June.

The Namibia Netball Federation confirmed the team’s participation during a recent send-off ceremony, highlighting the tournament’s importance as part of the official international rankings calendar. The event will feature six national teams currently ranked between 18th and 30th globally, including Namibia, the host UAE, the USA, Republic of Ireland, Singapore, and Kenya.

This marks a significant opportunity for Namibia to gain valuable international experience and strengthen its standing in global netball. The Federation noted that the team and technical staff have undergone rigorous training in preparation for the competition and are determined to perform at their best.

Participation in this international event is not only about rankings, the Federation emphasized, but also about promoting unity, national pride, and continued progress for the sport in Namibia.

The Debmarine Desert Jewels will carry the hopes of a nation as they step onto the court in Dubai, aiming to leave a lasting impression on one of netball’s rising international stages.
