National Schools Netball Workshop Strengthens Grassroots Planning

National Schools Netball Workshop Strengthens Grassroots Planning. A schools netball planning workshop aimed at strengthening participation across Namibia was held over the weekend at Windhoek Gymnasium Private School.

The two day event was organised by the NSSU Code Committee in collaboration with Netball Namibia. It brought together members tasked with supporting and guiding the development of netball within the school environment.

The workshop focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and sense of responsibility required to ensure the continued growth of netball among pupils. Discussions and planning sessions centred on improving coordination, sustaining participation, and reinforcing structures that support the sport at school level.

By working directly with those involved in schools sport structures, the organisers aimed to create a clearer pathway for consistent netball activity across different regions. The emphasis was placed on practical planning and shared understanding of roles in promoting and managing the sport among learners.

The choice of Windhoek Gymnasium Private School as the host venue provided a central setting for representatives to engage over the two days. The collaborative format allowed for exchanges of ideas and alignment on priorities related to schools netball.

Support for the workshop was made possible through sponsorship from the Capricorn Group. The sponsorship contributed to the successful hosting of the event and enabled the participation of members involved in schools netball structures.

The gathering reflects ongoing efforts by the NSSU Code Committee and Netball Namibia to strengthen the foundation of the sport through structured planning and cooperation. By focusing on capacity building at schools level, the workshop sought to reinforce systems that encourage regular participation and long term development of netball among young players across the country.
