Sisa Namandje Foundation Renews N$100 000 Support for Grassroots Football. The Sisa Namandje Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots football development in Namibia with a further N$100 000 contribution to the Namibia Football Association (NFA).
The handover took place today in Windhoek and forms part of a three year sponsorship agreement valued at N$300 000, which was signed between the foundation and the NFA last year. The agreement provides for annual contributions of N$100 000 over the three year period.
This year’s contribution was overseen by NFA acting secretary general Mabos Vries and Sisa Namandje Foundation chairperson Taimi Iileka Amupanda. The payment represents the second installment of the agreement, following the foundation’s initial N$100 000 contribution made last year.
According to the terms of the sponsorship arrangement, the final N$100 000 payment is scheduled to be made next year, completing the three year funding commitment. The funds are earmarked for the support of grassroots football initiatives under the NFA, which focus on the development of football at community and youth levels.
The NFA has previously identified grassroots football as a critical component of the broader football development pathway in Namibia, with emphasis placed on early talent identification and structured support at local levels. Contributions from partners and foundations form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen these initiatives.
The Sisa Namandje Foundation has continued to engage in activities aimed at supporting social development initiatives in Namibia, including sport. The renewal of its financial support to the NFA reflects the foundation’s continued involvement in football development programmes.
Today’s handover marks another step in the implementation of the sponsorship agreement and maintains continuity in funding support for grassroots football activities. The NFA and the foundation are expected to conclude the agreement upon the completion of the final contribution next year, as outlined in the original sponsorship framework.
