Partnering with South Africa’s Courtney Kemp, van Schalkwyk advanced through the draw without defeat to reach the final of the J30 Maputo tournament, demonstrating consistent form across the competition.

The pair progressed through each round unbeaten before finishing as runners up, concluding their campaign with a podium result in a competitive junior field.

Other Namibian players also recorded notable results during the tournament, reflecting a strong overall showing from Namibia’s junior contingent competing in Maputo.

Israel Dowie advanced to the boys singles semi finals, while Joanivia Bezuidenhout reached the girls doubles semi finals alongside South Africa’s Tatum Venter.

Their performances contributed to Namibia’s visible presence at the event, with multiple players progressing into the later stages of their respective draws.

The J30 Maputo tournament forms part of the ITF U18 World Junior Tour calendar and brings together developing players from different countries for international competition and ranking opportunities.
